How do the wrinkles form that botox is used on? Is it due to skin elasticity? Or another reason?

  1. The wrinkles where people use botox on are called expression wrinkles like the ones on the forehead. Botox in this case is applied so the muscles around those wrinkles don’t move and the skin doesn’t get marked (wrinkles). Botox works paralyzing the muscles for a determined period of time.

  3. Yes it’s due to lack of skin elasticity coupled with overractive muscles. So furrows form where the muscles contract and the skin doesn’t so it wrinkles. Due to poor skin elasticity the furrows/wrinkles remain even when the muscles relax again.

  4. Well, the wrinkles that form on your face are basically because the muscles in your face tighten and contract. Botox works by basically freezing your skin, in the areas where you would get wrinkles. For example, imagine that when you raised your eye brows, the skin above your forehead simply diddnt move. Instead, it remaines smooth and soft. Botox usually lasts for about 3 to 4 months and really isn’t that expensive.
